  • There are three kinds of plate boundaries: convergent, divergent and transform.
  • There are three kinds of convergent boundaries: oceanic-continental, continental-continental and oceanic-oceanic.
  • The type of boundary interaction affects topography. For example, a continental-continental convergent boundary causes mountains.
  • Volcanoes are often caused by oceanic-continental convergent boundaries.
  • Volcanoes can cause short-term damage such as ash and fires. Volcanic eruptions can also cause climate change.
  • Mountains affect the amount of precipitation nearby areas receive.
  • There are four major "spheres:" atmosphere, biosphere, geosphere and hydrosphere.
  • Each sphere interacts with, and affects, each other.
