Introduction to Week 8

Welcome to week 8! Last week you learned about biotic and abiotic factors and how they affect both plant and animal life. You also learned about the 7 biomes found on Earth.

In this week you will learn about the relationship between energy and ecosystems. We'll give a few examples of how changes in an ecosystem can alter it - sometimes permanently. By the end of the week you should be able to predict how changes in an ecosystem might affect it.

The lesson on the next page will offer a brief introduction to the biotic and abiotic interactions that take place in ecosystems, and the role such interactions play in providing energy for an ecosystem.
