Interview Protocol

You will be interviewing a Dakota person via Skype, a computer-to-computer video conference calling service that is free on the internet.

We will practice creating interview questions together. It is important to ask good questions in order to get answers that you will find helpful in learning about the Dakota people of today. The questions you will be asking will center around these four points:

· What Dakota culture means to the interviewee

· What it means to be a Dakota person in today’s world

· What is the importance of the Dakota language and culture to the interviewee

· What the interviewee is doing to revitalize the Dakota language and strengthen their ties to the Dakota culture
