There are two ways of simulating a low gravity moon walk tested in this Mythbusters episode:
  1. Using slow motion.
  2. Using guy wires.

The Mythbusters suggest they "don't look right" when compared to the actual low gravity walk.

NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!

Using your knowledge of projectile motion,

I want you to suggest ways to analyze footage to determine if the moon walk was real or faked using slow motion.

OR

Explain that it is impossible to analyze footage to determine if the moon walk could be faked using slow motion.

level 1
level 2
level 3
level 4
Can you use the concepts we learned in physics to suggest ways of analyzing motion?
You describe a feeling you have about the nature of the two
You can describe some physical differences you might expect to see between low gravity footage and slow motion footage or suggest why they would be the same.
Using you understanding of components of motion and projectiles, you can suggest ways to determine if the video footage was filmed in a low gravity environment or in slow motion.
OR
You argue convincingly that analyzing components of motion won't differentiate slow motion footage and from footage filmed in a low gravity environment.
Using you understanding of components of motion and projectiles, you can suggest ways to determine if the video footage was filmed in a low gravity environment or in slow motion. You provide some mathematical examples to support your suggestions.
OR
You provide some mathematical proof that analyzing components of motion won't differentiate slow motion footage and a low gravity environment.

You do not have to provide an exhaustive analysis to acheive a high level 4, but provide some possible examples.
