Unit Objectives

Animal Nutrition Unit Objectives:

1. Identify, locate and describe the functions of the parts of the ruminant and nonruminant digestive systems.

2.  Classify farm animals as ruminants and nonruminants.

3.  Explain the relationship of types of digestive systems to the ability of ruminants and nonruminants to digest and absorb different classes of feeds.

4.  Identify the major functions of basic nutrients.

5.  Discuss the general use and purpose of various feed additives

6.  Balance livestock feed rations using Pearson's Square.
