CYCLING TO THE ROUNDHOUSE

After a quick trip into the staff cycle store in the basement of the Roundhouse this morning, I counted 26 cycles , plus I know some staff are using the other cycle sheds too. Assuming around 30 staff (hopefully it could be more) are now cycling to work daily, this means up to 9% of you have chosen to pedal to work. This is a fantastic achievement and is three times the national average, proving that many of you are now considering your transport options to the Roundhouse.

Cycle Derby, who promote cycling around the city, have told us on many occasions that at the Roundhouse we have….

The Best Cycle Facilities in Derby!!

With modern showers, plenty of lockers and secure underground storage covered by CCTV, there really is no better place to cycle to in the city!

A big thank you to all our new (and old) cyclists for helping us to take our Green Travel Plan forward. We are delighted that so many of you have chosen pedal power to get to work and hope that our cycling community continues to grow.

With limited car parking spaces at both city centre sites, there has never been a better time to consider whether you really need that car everyday. It can actually take less time by bicycle from local areas than it takes in a car, and of course, it’s free to ride , free to park and best of all, it’s good for you !

So if you’re thinking of joining the many new cyclists we have at Derby College and want to have a look at the facilities for yourself, give me a ring and I will happily show you “ Derby ’s best cycling facilities !”.
