the Prezi below on how to balance livestock rations using Pearson's
Square.  Complete the problems below and submit.  Each problem is
worth 5 pts.  You can view the Prezi as many times as needed to assist you
with the problems.

1.
Balance a 16% ration for feeder pigs using corn (8%) and SBM (44%).
Determine how many parts of each protein source would be needed as well as the
total parts of the ration.

2.
A rancher requires a 10% grain ration for his show horses.  He would like
to use corn (8%) and barley (12%).  Use Pearson's square to determine the
parts of each grain needed and the total parts in the ration.

3.
A beef producer with show cattle would like a 14% ration from barley (12%) and
cottonseed meal (CSM) (41%).  Use Pearson's square to determine the parts
of each protein source in the ration and the total parts of the ration.

4.  If the farmer in #3 wanted to
grind a one ton batch of the ration calculated, how many pounds of barley and
how many pounds of CSM would he need?
