Absolute Zero Lab

For this lab you will use data from the experiment depicted below in order to determine the Celsius temperature of Absolute Zero.

First watch the video so you understand the setup.

When you are are done watching the video retrieve the .

If you have access excel or some other program that makes best fit lines, you can use that to make a best fit line for the data so you can approximate absolute zero. Otherwise you can use the graph already included with the data to draw in your own best fit line by hand, that will give you an estimation of absolute zero as well.

Submit a document that has your answers to the following questions:

1. At what pressure does absolute zero temperature occur?

2. How do you use the data to find this temperature.

3. What temperature do you get using this data?

4. How good is the match to the known value of absolute zero?

5. What could be done to improve this lab?
