An online course providing support and training for new features within Moodle 2 and how they can be used in teaching. 

The course is designed to develop knowledge and understanding of features and to enable the sharing of ideas with other teachers on how these features can be applied to teaching and learning.  It uses the features of Moodle 2 that you will be learning about to get the experience as a learner and gain the knowledge required by the teacher.

Course Description

  • This course will introduce Moodle and present elearning instructional design tips and resources. You will experience this course as a student as it leads you through constructing a course with instructional content, engaging activities, communication and interaction objects, feedback and assessments.
  • Complete this course and earn 6 workshop hours/6 points toward Salary Advancement.

THE SUBJECTS' ASSESSMENT EVENTS AND PORTFOLIO ACTIVITIES ARE BASED ON A WORKPLACE SCENARIO.

This six week course introduces teachers to the tools and strategies needed to connect with students online. The course will investigate best practices in communicating with and encouraging students in an online / blended environment, as well as provide practical instruction in some of the most common course tools provided in Moodle. Participants will be provided synchronous and asynchronous experiences to encourage growth of facilitation skills. Teachers will also work with and discuss a variety of methods for creating student engagement in an online setting.
